when i grow up i want to be a...princess

Wow I adore this amazing princess birthday party, styled by City Cradle Design. A princess party theme with a modern flair and executed to perfection!

I am so inlove with the white painted frames above the dress up table & the use of silhouette to fancy up the lunch napkins with labels announcing the royal feast. And how cute are all the little girls enjoy becoming princesses for a day...too precious!

And all set up was held in an outdoor park, the space was transformed into a beautiful enchanted pink world, because no princess party is complete without a hot pink swing!

Enjoy xx

colour me happy...

Jonathan Adler has done it again, from office to cocktails in one stop! His new stationary collection is to die for. I love his new range of gift-giving, note-writing and party-throwing supplies in JA signature colors and gorgeous geometric prints – it makes me want to start planning a summer cocktail party by the pool! The collection ranges from posh pens and pencils to fantastic file folders and chic note cubes. Head on over to Jonathan Adler to pick a few goodies to brighten your desk and your day!

Have a read of his manifesto? It’s very funny, chic & cheeky xx

yummy mummy Corinne from Style My Party...

Corinne recently launched her own business, Style My Party, and I am so delighted to have her as our guest blogger, not only to share her amazing story but also the fabulous garden party of her daughter’s 1st birthday.

I am totally smitten by all the details of Ava’s party. This amazing {garden party} is chock full of girly loveliness. I would imagine the lucky birthday girl Ava was in heaven.

I love the soft color palette of candy pink, ruby red and a touch of crisp white. The small garden touches including butterflies, ladybugs and poppies are just too precious. The sweets table featured an adorable cupcakes styled with cupcake toppers {designed by Corinne}, pink & white marshmallows, yummy red jaffa’s, mushroom shaped gummy candy in a lovely pale pink colour and loads more eye candy. All the party printables are designed by the super talented Corrine. From party banner, cupcake toppers to dessert buffet labels.

Tell us a little about YOU, the woman behind “Style My Party”?
I am married to an amazing man, who cooks for me every night.. and i am a mum to the most precious little girl.. they both make my heart melt
I am a neat freak, a born organiser, and a perfectionist.. you could even say a little anal.. !

When did you launch your business?
Would you believe i havent officially launched yet! Its all happened a lot sooner than i anticipated or imagined. But i am greatful for the amazing support i have already received and hope it continues.. Im thinking of hosting a launch party in 2011 - So be sure to keep an eye out for details.

What was your inspiration for starting your own business & who/what inspires your work?
I think it all started 4 years ago when i started planning my wedding.. I LOVED the whole process.. so much so, that i helped my sister & 2 close friends organise their wedding, at the same time i was organising my own. (can you believe i still buy bride to be mags)
I even got a job with a huge wedding function company... I love event styling,i love the whole process.. plus im an organisational freak, so i enjoy taking on the 'stress' of other people and helping them achieve what they are after...But now that i have a little girl, and have the joy of watching her grow - i couldnt imagine anything better than bringing her parties to life...

My business isnt limited just to "kids" parties.. I also offer Dessert table/styling for all those major events in our lives... {engagements, weddings, baby showers etc etc}

What is the most satisfying part of what you do?
Seeing the "Dessert Table" exactly how i pictured it!
I generally spend the whole week, dreaming & visualising how i want it to turn out.. I live & breath each party/dessert table i create..So its very nice seeing the table come to life.I ts also really lovely to see the mums so happy, and the kids are besides themselves!!

What was the most rewarding thing that has happened in your career so far?
Im not sure that it has happened yet?! But being featured on Kate Landers blog has so far been the hightlight.. And of course being a 'yummy mummy' on the beautiful My Little Jedi blog :-)

Can you tell us your favourite handmade item you have brought recently?
It would have to be some hair clips i bought for my daughter for her birthday, from Bliss Clips. Very pretty!

What are your long term goals for your business?
I have alot of ideas, that i hope will take place next year.. so you'll just have to keeping watching..

Do you have a favourite colour palette that you absolutely love ?
Goodness.. this is a hard one..
~ I love the turquoise/red/white theme - you inspired me from a recent xmas post.. & have made me change my whole xmas theme.

~I also love aqua & pink - I have a "alice in wonderland" theme booked for December - so im thinking of those colours..
~ Grey and yellow - especially for a baby shower...

Seriously there are TOO many colour palettes.. i love them all.

What is your favourite girl and boy party theme at the moment?
For a {girl} - i love the thought of a vintage tea party.. there are SO many things you can do
For a {boy} - I so love the nautical theme - that could be because i just styled one a few weeks back..

What is your favourite place in the world?
Anywhere my family is.. they are my world - so as long as i have my two very special loves with me i dont care where i am.. But i do have a soft spot for Thailand..

wishing tree...

{hello hanna wishing tree -

Guest books are a great way for your family and friends to leave you words of celebration and kindness you can keep forever. Traditionally, everyone used a guest book where people can sign their name and leave a brief message. Recently, guest books have become increasingly popular and made photobooths and polaroid cameras an essential. But we've all seen that before. What's really new and unique is the Wishing Tree.

Wishing trees a great way to add a unique touch to your wedding, engagement or birthday party. The basic principle is for guests to leave their well-wishes for the couple on small hang tags that they fill out and then hang on the “tree”.

Place the hang tags along with a pen on a lovely tray and then set up the hang tags asking your guests to “Please Leave Your Wishes on the Tree”. Placing a gorgeous decorated wishing tree near the entrance of the reception will get oohs and aahs from your guests. After the wedding, you can create a lovely scrapbook using the cards that guests left on the tree. Below, i have used couple of inpirational pics of ways to create your "perfect" wishing tree for your occasion. Also, My little jedi stocks the above "hello hanna" wishing tree which has won "Best of Show" award at the National Stationery Show, 2010. Enjoy xx

sweet decadence...

One way ticket to Paris, please!

Its no secret that I am completely obsessed with french macaroons. Problem is, no one does them quite like the Parisians. Just the other day I was googling Pierre Herme's new flavors, wondering if they ship to the AUS (they do not).
Alone the colours and how everything is arranged so beautifully makes me want to get a one ticket to Paris and indulge. Now, I have indulged on some delicious macaroons from {Baroque Patisserie} at the Rocks but if only the packaging was half as pretty as Pierre Herme's, well, um... color me happy! Oh and my diet starts from tomorrow! I promise! xx

glamour, girliness and timeless vintage chic - part II

{Olympia, Despina & Irene photographed
in the St.Grorge/Sutherland Leader}

As promised here is part II of the amazing {Vintage Baby} guest post, but tonight we reveal how Vintage Baby was born.

Inspired through a love of vintage pieces and shabby chic for little ones, Vintage Baby offers original pieces from babies through to infants. From dressing your child up in the most chic looks, to accessorizing the perfect room, Vintage Baby has all you need to create the vintage design of your dreams. I had the pleasure of interviewing Despina & Irene from Vintage Baby, they are both wonderfully talented, so please read their lovely story and enjoy xx

Tell us a little about YOU, the gorgeous girls behind “Vintage Baby”?

We are both very creative. We expressed this through many ways such as acting, dance & singing but found our creativity branched out over the years into creating things and designing. We have passion for all things vintage, original style clothing so we wanted to create unique designs for little people.

When did you launch your business/website?
We started our business in 2009 and launched our website in May 2010.

If you could describe your style in 3 words what would that be?
Vintage, original & timeless

What was your inspiration for starting your own business & who/what inspires your work?
After Despina had her baby we got caught up in the baby world of wonderful, gorgeous items and thought we wanted to contribute with our own original flare and what better way than to create anything and everything related to ‘little people’.

What is the most satisfying part of what you do?
Having great feedback from our customers and seeing our little Vintage Baby fans wearing or owning our products.

What was the most rewarding thing that has happened in your career so far?
Our first ever editorial (a month into launching our website) was in Studio Bambini – they contacted us to shoot our Crystal White Chandelier. Also the fact we are branching out into many areas now. It makes us happy when we know the people who buy our products love them as much as we do!

What are your long term goals for your business?
We would love to have our brand in many children’s boutiques around the world and possibly our own store.

Name three brands you couldn’t live without? and why?
Juicy Couture, Alannah Hill and Marc Jacobs. These best describe our style. Girly, dainty, detailed and original. Marc Jacobs because he has a fantastic range of purses, handbags and accessories.

Whats your day to day like?
Busy! If we aren’t organising our daily orders we are designing, creating and showcasing our products.

What is your favourite holiday destination?
New York (Fashion Capital of the World)

If you could be a super hero or cartoon character who would it be?
Despina: Superhero/ cartoon – would have to be She-Ra. She had the best outfit, headpiece and rode a white unicorn.
