amazing workspace ~ 'snug studio'

Comfortable, cozy…I am in love! I am so excited to share with my readers an amazing workspace of two very talented designers who happen to live in Hannover, Germany. The Snug Studio is owned by the interior designer Kerstin & architect, Berit. I am so inspired by their amazing work, I cant help it but love their unique range of products.

From ceramic candle holders inspired by traditional cake molds, pendant lights created from vintage porcelain coffee filters, and a wooden bench made using recycled chair backs with new, modern seating surfaces, Snug is a design studio with a fresh approach. Their shop is a place to buy something beautiful or to simply visit for a little inspiration, walking away with new ideas of your own. You have to check it out xx

Levi's Aeroplane Party

I am super excited to share with my readers Levi’s 2nd birthday party created by his very talented mum Jordan from {Polkadots Prints Studio}. Every last detail has been taken into account and I love everything about it ~ decorations, table set up, party favors. So much work and planning has gone into this party I can only imagine how many months of preparation it must have taken. I just love the orange and turquoise palette, just divine!

I have to say my favourite element of this party is the the super cute chocolate 'fly' clouds and the milk carton lollie bags.

{We are so delighted that our divine twine was used in this gorgeous party. And here are few other lovelies who helped out with the party:

trend alert ~ grey and yellow

Grey Is one of my favourite colours but when paired with yellow, I can’t resist but love! This season – I am seeing a ton of yellow and pale grey mixed together. It’s somewhat of an unlikely pairing, but is really attractive! I like it especially in house interior and clothing. Grey is a great neutral backdrop that gives you the opportunity to change up your pop colors seasonally. Grey is very dominant at my house, I particularly love my big grey feature wall and many lovely accessory pieces. This combination is so classic yet modern.

Being inspired by this gorgeous colour combination, i cant wait for our 'smock' wrapping paper collection to arrive to 'my little jedi'. If you would like more information on this gorgeous wrapping paper, please send us an email on mylittlejedi@hotmail.com xx

there is something about {Andrea} from Kawaii Kids

I am delighted to share with all of you our new re-styled {BLOG} and as a part of the launch we have a very special guest ~ the lovely Andrea from Kawaii Kids.

I have to admit I have a addiction to all things “Kawaii”. I am a huge fan of Kawaii style clothing, stationary and kids accessories. Kawaii Kids is all about cute, quirky & fun clothing for little kids, a pure haven of loveliness. Andrea has been a such a great supporter of ‘my little jedi’ and has taken our 'kawaii inspired' cards collection on board, so I would love to take this opportunity and share her amazing and inspirational story with my lovely readers!

These are some of the shots of Andrea’s new store, everything looks absolutely divine! I would like to congratulate Andrea on the opening of her new gorgeous store and wish her all the very best in the future. If you live in Melbourne, you have to check it out. xx

Tell us a little about YOU, the woman behind Kawaii Kids?
When is it ever about you, when you have kids, laughs?! Ok ... let me try ... I have 2 children, am addicted to my computer, enjoy chocolate (a lot!), very happy, love my life and where it’s heading.

When did you launch your business/website?
I launched my first online store Soda Pop Kids late 2008. The idea for it started about 12 months before that, so it was a long time in the making. We launched Kawaii Kids in Nov 2009 and closed down Soda Pop Kids in February 2010. Kawaii Kids is what I really loved and where I wanted my time to be spent. It was a hard decision at the time as SPK was going so well, but I wanted to give Kawaii Kids my all and make it work and it’s paid off.

What was your inspiration for starting your own business & who/what inspires your work?
I started designing shoes when my son was 1 (he’s now almost 4), and that was where it all started: I couldn’t find shoes that were soft, flexible and easy for him to wear. The online store was suppose to be the smaller part of my business (the little thing for me to do to fill in my spare time .. oh how funny it sounds now!), but it’s ended up being the other way! The shoes are just getting ready to take off now, and the store has been going well for almost 12 months. My kids inspire me, as I started this so that I could stay at home with them. A couple of other online stores are pretty inspirational as well.

What is the most satisfying part of what you do?
Definitely being my own boss ... that I love! I would like to say that it’s flexible and I can take time off when I want, but that would be lying! I love getting good feedback from my customers, that really gives me a kick and makes me feel great ... at least I know I’m doing something right and people are loving the crazy things that I find!

What was the most rewarding thing that has happened in your career so far?
We got a couple of awards in May (Best New Business & Young Entrepreneur for the Buloke Shire) and that was pretty good. I’d been working from home for a long time but not many people knew what I was doing. Winning was a great way to promote Kawaii Kids and our B&M store which we just recently opened.

Can you tell us your favourite handmade item you have brought recently?
I haven’t brought one yet but I’ve been eying off the dolls from Pikelet Workshop .. Have you seen them? They are totally adorable.

What are your long term goals for your business?
Hahaha .. well, I have huge goals which I keep to myself so that no one is disappointed if I don’t get there (that and they’d probably laugh) but most people do know that I want a successfully HUGE online store running out of a HUGE warehouse and 3 B&M stores in 5 years ... I have 4 years and 2 more stores to go ... if I get there with the turnover I’m aiming for, I will be one happy person!

What would be your best tip for someone thinking about selling online?
Don’t do it!!! Laughs! No, honestly it’s a LOT of work and you have to give it 110% and more to make it work. I guess it depends on what you want but from the point of view of an online store it’s a lot of work, takes a lot of time and money ... and you still can’t be sure that you will be here in 2 years.

Name three brands you couldn’t live without? and why?
Palmers: body butter, lip balm, leg polish (for the rare times I go out) ... addicted!Nestle: coffee ... need to stay awake to work (I’d never had coffee until I started in this crazy business)Kryolan: tv paint stick ... I put make up on everyday (only minimal, don’t have time for much more than that!) and this is great stuff.

Do you have a favourite trend?
For my kids clothes, it’s colour. Mix and match anything as long as it’s colourful! For me, I’m a leggings and top person, finished with flats (well to be honest, it was pj pants until I got a ‘real’ job!)

What is your favourite place in the world?
At the moment, my shop ... it’s just so cute and I am in love! Ask me in 12 months and it might be somewhere else.

If you could be a super hero or cartoon character who would it be? {this one is just for fun}
Batman or Spiderman: my son would think I was sooooo cool!

{Special Guest ~ Candy Soirees}

I must say I love all the amazing & talented people I have met through social networking, having said that I would love to introduce two amazingly talented mums & owners of a lovely a boutique event styling business {Candy Soirees}. I would like you to meet, Niki and Steffi.

Candy Soirees was created by these two lovely sisters who share a passion and flair for all things beautiful and stylish & they offer ideas and concepts that will turn your dreams into a breathtaking reality.

Candy Soirees would love to invite you to share the experience of sweet and lavish Soirees that they passionately design because they believe all events are worth celebrating in style.

Its been such a treat having Niki and Steffi as a part of our {blog guests} this week and giving our lovely readers a little insight of {Candy Soirees}. I know I’ve been inspired by their hard work and success, and i hope their story is going to be inspiring for you as well. Enjoy xx

Tell us a little about YOU & Candy Soirees?
Actually there are two of us behind candy soirees, my sister and myself. I am from a design/product development background and Steffi has a business and sales background. I guess I am more the face of Candy soirees as she likes to stay in the background and keep check on things. We are both mum of two gorgeous boys and we both love stylish things. On a design point of view I am very passionate about beautiful and unique concepts and I love sweet treats and beautiful party ideas hence candy soirees.

When did you launch your business/website?
We stared the business about a year ago as a hobby, it came about after my second sons baptisms....my sister and I set up a candy buffet and friends and family started to ask us to put a design together for their kids functions......but I didn’t start taking it seriously up until 6 months ago when we launched the website.

What was your inspiration for starting your own business & who/what inspires your work?
I worked in a homeware design department and one of my categories was developing the food range for Christmas gifting, so through research for sweet treats and chocolate ideas I came across Amy Atlas.....and that is where my inspiration came from.....In addition to this styling my babies baptism was a real inspiration. I enjoyed it so much and loved the feedback I received from my family and friends so I guess Little Alexander along with my family and friends inspired me.Oh and my wonderful husband who believes in me and in candy soirees....he has been a huge support.

What is the most satisfying part of what you do?
Working from home and spending more time with my boys....I went back to work very early with both my boys so this is the first time that I have actually felt like a full time mum to my kids. In addition to this I love making clients happy, the look on their face when they see the final result of our work is gratifying.

What was the most rewarding thing that has happened in your career so far?
Working for my last employer, that was most rewarding because they were amazing in the design area and to be a part of that was satisfying.....and such a great learning experience for me. Oh and being a guest on your lovely blog that I love following.

Can you tell us your favourite handmade item you have brought recently?
A vintage design tablecloth, I am starting to love all things vintage with a very big mix of classic contemporary.

What are your long term goals for your business?
Ideally I would like to design an exclusive range to candy soirees in wedding favours, party favour packaging, Invitations etc
Dessert tables is something we would love to be known for and maybe eventually a studio to display our work...that would be ideal

What would be your best tip for someone thinking about selling online?
Oh be patient it doesn’t happen overnight, we are still young and trying to perfect this side of the business......but we are learning as we go along

Name three brands you couldn’t live without? and why?
Only three ??? LOL ok Chanel, I love their perfume and makeup.
I am not sure , not really a brand girl I just buy what I like from designer down to a little shop at my local shopping strip......
Although my favourite homeware designer is George Jenson.....so couldn’t live without his designs in stores for me to admire LOL

Do you have a favourite trend?
I have many favourite trends, I love art deco and I am loving French chic {glamour} oh and I love Hollywood glamour, Audrey Hepburn style.

What is your favourite place in the world?
A little island in Greece called Lefkas, one of the seven islands between Italy and Greece, my parents have a house there and it is the most magical place in the world....and off course the best beaches.

If you could be a super hero or cartoon character who would it be? (this one is just for s a bit of fun)
Wonder woman.....although I am not sure that I can pull off that outfit

{obsession with all things letterpressed}

I have a confession. I may have a (little bit, tiny) crush on someone other than my dearly beloved. But don’t blame me. I’m not the first one to have an affair of this variety. I just can’t restrain myself…the temptation is too great.
{LETTER PRESS}
I have fallen in love with {SMOCK} latest range of letterpress gift cards! Every single card is amazingly divine! SMOCK is based in Syracuse, New York, they produce only high quality letterpress & chic designs and they're the first and only print shop in the U.S. to offer printing on a luxury bamboo paper. A truly sustainable paper that happened to be gorgeous. With a strong influence of old world charm mixed with classic styles, SMOCK also keeps up with the latest trends to deliver fresh designs.
