Few weeks ago i
had the pleasure of getting an invite from Kleenex to attend the "Pin to
make a difference" event, however i was not able to attended due
to other commitments. The event was described as fun and
informative day with the emcee Melissa Doyle, speeches from Darren Rowse
(Problogger) on using social for social good and shared knowledge from Kleenex
partners the Forest Stewardship Council and the World Wildlife Fund.
What is the
Kleenex Cottonelle Pin to Make a Difference Campaign?
The “Pin to Make a Difference” campaign
is a Kleenex Cottonelle initiative designed to drive conversations about how
mums can take small steps in the home every day to help ‘Make a Difference’ and
feel good about the role they play in securing a sustainable future. Kleenex Cottonelle aims to helps mums
on this journey as an FSC accredited product and by getting mums talking about
ways to be sustainable in the home.
So far, Kleenex has done the following:
- 1. Created a
Pinterest channel with a number of tips on how to be sustainable in the home: http://pinterest.com/kleenexau/
- 2. Hosted
an event with Mummy bloggers which included a Pinning Competition, where mums
pinned as many sustainability tips as they could on Pinterest
- 3. And now, we are going to run a contest and one lucky winner will win a “prize

{Pin to make a difference event}
I reuse the stripy clothes that i use for cleaning and washing up by washing them to save on the use of paper towels and smelly sponges.
ReplyDeleteI walk to the local shops to pick up general grocery supplies instead of emitting fumes into the air by hopping in the car! It works well as it also makes me feel good about myself by saving the environment AND staying fit at the same time :)
ReplyDeleteWe recycle all of our glass jars. All shapes and sizes are washed and given a second life. We use them as dainty little vases, spice jars, pen holders etc. They are also perfect in the 'craft' cupboard for small bits and pieces like buttons, ribbons and pins. Sometimes I go all out and design new labels for them and print them on my home printer.
ReplyDeleteMy sustainable tips for the home:
ReplyDelete- We make our kitchen wipes last longer by rinsing them with eucalyptus and then zapping them in the microwave for 30 seconds to kill the bacteria.
- Keep all glass jars to use as mismatched vases.
- Always buy recycled paper towel.
- Use a dash of eucalyptus with water in a re used spray bottle to clean the kitchen, smells super fresh and disinfects as well as cleans!
White vinegar, lemon and bi-carb soda is all you need to clean your kitchen/bathroom. Great for the environment, great for my lungs, no accidental bleached clothes/hair, and also so much more effective!
ReplyDeleteWe buy local as much as possible.
ReplyDeleteWe have chooks, ducks, dogs and a sheep so nothing is wasted, the animals get all our kitchen scraps and we get eggs and will soon have ducks for Sunday lunch :-)
